Transformation is the key word that comes to mind when I daydream about my second country. Whether I am drinking a cup of coffee while gazing at the town square or on the back of a pickup truck headed to hike the Lago Cuicocha 17km loop, the ethos of the Ecuadoreans and the country’s landscapes transform me from cell to soul. Why is that? I believe the events that transform us occur at a very local, immediate and personal level. Ecuador is very personal. People look you in the eye. Ask questions. Provide feedback. The landscape provides feedback. This blog is dedicated to sharing my perspective, activities, photography and ongoing travels in the Northern high country of Ecuador. Contact me if you would like to share some of your own experiences.
